An open heart and mind

Therapeutic Approach

All of us have wounds that need tending and healing. In times of sadness, fear, devastation, and doubt, it helps to have someone who can help shoulder those thoughts and feelings and set a course toward healing.

I believe the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist plays an important role in healing. I offer an open heart and a belief that each of us has strength, wisdom, love, joy, confidence, and a sense of purpose at our core. Sometimes we lose touch with these aspects of ourselves and need to identify what prevents us from connecting with them.

Understanding old patterns

Current problems often connect with issues from the past. Challenges in present relationships may stem from relationships in our family of origin. Understanding these connections can deepen self-awareness and increase our ability to choose a different path rather than feeling trapped in old patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting.

Mind, body and relationship

My work focuses on the mind-body connection, family systems, and a pluralistic understanding of the individual. I incorporate Internal Family Systems and the relational work of John Welwood. I focus on what gets in the way of each person’s intrinsic resources and their ability to draw on strength, confidence, and their unique gifts.

I am continually inspired by each person’s natural inclination to heal. It is an honor to play a part in that process.
