Licensed Mental Health Professional – Solo Practice
Provide therapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families using solution focused therapy, family systems theory, cognitive behavior therapy, play therapy and humanistic therapies to treat a wide range of mental health issues.
Contract Family Therapist – C.I.E.L.O
Provide counseling services, through a state contract, to families in conflict where there is a serious and imminent danger to the health and stability of the family system including domestic violence, substance abuse, physical and sexual abuse, suicidal behavior, communication problems and mental health issues. I use a wide range of counseling modalities, as well as teach individualized problem solving skills that can be used by the family to respond to and manage family crisis and strengthen family units. I also facilitate multi-disciplinary team meetings with schools and address academic achievement and behavior issues. I assist with the adoption of children that have been in foster care to help stabilize the adoption for successful attachment. I also provide therapy to children and adolescents in foster care/out-of-home care, addressing the unique needs of these children.
Intervention Specialist – North Thurston Public Schools
Developed behavior-management plans and recommended specific instructional strategies for students. I consulted with parents and teachers regarding assessment results and problems related to student’s school adjustments and performance and provided recommendations for specific interventions. I wrote 504 plans for students and served as a consultant to school staff and parents on how best to assist students. I conducted assessments and observations, analyzed data, reported data to team members, and wrote psychological evaluations.
Readiness to Learn Case Manager/Counselor – Community Youth Services
Received referrals from City of Tumwater K-6 interventionists identifying students with safety issues in the home, attendance and basic survival needs issues interfering with academic learning. I conducted home visits to establish a working relationship with parents and other supportive adults and assisted the identified student, family, school, and community in finding solutions to learning barriers. I facilitated communication between community social services, families, and schools to assist in communication, problem solving and treatment planning for referred clients while providing individual counseling and crisis intervention to students on an as needed bases to help with anger management, conflict resolution skills, and self-esteem development.
School Outreach Counselor/Shelter Specialist – Community Youth Services
Provided crisis intervention to middle and high school students who were identified as “at-risk” due to family conflict, abuse and neglect, depression, suicide, and other mental health issues. I assessed students and provided information and referrals to appropriate resources as well as networked with community service providers to establish treatment teams for students and their families. I facilitated treatment team meetings with schools and coordinated after care plans.
